Camden Renaissance is undergoing construction. I called the City of Altamonte to find out if they could hold tenants to their lease while they undergo this process (apparently they can.) Camden calls this a 'weatherization' process but the person I spoke to with the city said that there was/is a termite problem. They are doing one building at a time (I think my building was the second one done -they are nowhere near finished) and it is a process that takes TWELVE TO FOURTEEN WEEKS. That is a quarter of my entire lease term. If you MUST move here be sure that you will be renting in a building that has already undergone construction. You will have to live with construction workers in your apartment, power outages, and having the water turned off during parts of construction. As you would expect with living in a HARD HAT construction zone you'll have to live with noise, insects getting in through holes punched through the walls (they tape sheets of plastic over all of the outward facing walls but bugs still get in), and dust and debris. My bedroom furniture was covered with drywall dust after they finished making repairs. The air conditioning kept going out until they finally placed something over the outside units and cables to keep them protected during construction. I could seriously go on and on. The worst of it was Camden. Those people could not have cared less about what they were putting their tenants through. They offer no concessions. Even though you pay for outdoor space and storage they board up the patio door! They are only willing to let you transfer to another Camden property. Whether that's convenient for you is your problem. All costs associated with moving are your problem. They do not let residents know that they are undergoing this process. You have to ask! It was an absolute nightmare. I really can't overstate it. I posted a few pictures (there is a six picture limit on this site) but they tell only part of the story. I'll finish with this one - I woke up one morning and thought that there were people IN my bedroom. I noticed the black plastic over the bedroom window moving (see photo below) and realized they had removed the windows. They put them back in later that day but I WOKE UP TO THAT. It scared the heck out of me.

I will never rent from Camden again - any Camden property.

I just moved out of there and I can say it is the WORST PLACE I have ever lived. No one in the office cares at all--I know they don't get paid to care but they could at least pretend. Seriously if you move into this place you are a fool. With the housing market you can find a house for less than they are charging for rent. When I moved out I produced a 3 page letter of why I left I watched as the office worker hold punched it, put in in the file and put in the computer under reason for moving "house/condo." Believe it or not this used to be a nice apt complex but it should just be a deposit your check only building. The rent keeps going up and the amenities and care go down. I had MOLD in my apartment over and over and NO ONE CARED.

yes, the property is undergoing renovations but I will guarntee that the work has nothing to do with termites. I work for Camden and know this for a fact. Maybe you should contact the office for additional help.

I lived there for 15 months, my building was so noisy w/party people for all of the 15 months, everyone talking on their cell in the hallways which i could hear ALL of their conversations, had 2 flats tires there and NEVER had ANY flats in my ENTIRE history (23 yrs-of owning vehicles, the pools were NEVER cleaned the 15 months i was there and you could not smell chlorine (believe me you want alot of chlorine to kill bacteria & diseases and dirt) few bugs, thank god we didn't renew cause we saw the construction starting and 434 stuff happening so we left! Also had 1 guy who smoked pot all the time on his porch and the smell would float downstairs, so I would have to walk through severe pot smell basically everytime I went back into my apt. Staff weren't that great only 1 girl who moved over to Longwood, she was great. TOO MANY NAILS AND SCREWS THROUGHOUT THE PARKING LOT. I found a 6 inch long nail one day. My friends & I would just walk around & pick up nails & screws because we didn't want anyone else to get flats. We also brought Fantastic to the disgusting laundry room each time we did laundry and would clean everything with Fantastic & paper towels. We also would clean down the fitness machines with alcohol before we used them and BLACK would actually come off of them. They had 1 cleaning woman for the entire complex and she was gone before Christmas & the never got anyone else. Nothing was ever cleaned in laundry rooms, fitness room #2. They only keep the main clubhouse, fitness, nice for the potential tenants! PS-Always video/photo of the apt when you move out which I did, cause I heard alot of stories how they would charge you for stuff you messed up that you actually did not mess up. So get a disposable & take ALL photos, the cabinets, storage, toilet bowl, tub, closet, rugs, walls, windows and video to spare yourself any heartache.

I had my car stolen twice and my tires flat twice b/c of the nails the construction workers left.
