The service here is great, the apartments are loud, but you work with it. The walls are thin and therefore you can hear everything that goes on above and around you. But the staff are always there to help, they really do fix maintence problems within 24 hours, anytime i called it was within 1 hour. The ladies are nice and courteous, the problem here is the scum tenants. Many residents are constantly drunk and attempting to start conversation with you, in day or night, some mean well most dont. The children play in the middle of the street at anytime, they throw sticks and rocks at eachother, and the drug use among the young ones is extreme. 12 and 11 yr old children smoking pot in the open,smoking cigarettes, without a care. You wonder where their mothers/parents are. Children are constantly playing with/in old wal mart shopping carts by the dumpsters and in the middle of the street (mind you the closest wal mart is a mile away)The apartment complex is trying to clean up,but the tenants use the landscaping as a public dumpster, just look on the ground level apartments, dog poopis everywhere on the ground, and see for yourself. The lake is nice, its NOT a swamp or renention pond, its actually part of the wekiva river, there are turtles and ducks and some gators. While i lived there there were many middle of the night fights outside my apartment aswell, many times i would come home (around 5-6pm) to amblunces, and police cars, along police men restraining residents, as they scream and curse their way into a cop car,its common,serious gang related crimes go on here, alot of drug dealers, and many times u walk out at night to throw my trash away, and see teens in their car walking out of their vehicle and a cloud of smoke leaves the car, and they stumble out and proceed to wake up every resident in the complex with their loud unrespectful voices, and actions,teens are constantly drinking with of-age residents, and smoking by the poolarea by the front office onfriday nights and saturday nights, once i saw them destroy the wntierepool area, tearing up papesd and p[lastic cups and leaving the mess all over the pool, it was bad and i felt bad for the maintenence the next day, many times at night you can see a police or swat helicopter with a bright searchlight searching for somthing or somone, no joke soley over the chatham harbor complex, i can honestly say atleast 50times since i lived there it happened, and usually within the hours of 12am and 4 am. The helicopter is loud and obnoxious, makes it hard to sleep at night. Since i was here, there have been 2 reported shootings at fellow tenants, so that can give you an idea of how this place is. Im not saying you cant walka around at night, just be careful.
