I noticed hole below vanity that clearly something, which I thought was a mouse chewed threw.

Called in my complaint to have maintenance come. I was informed pest control only comes on Tuesdays and would have maintenance come to my apartment. Maintenance came to investigate. He noticed behind my washer/dryer there was the problem. The rat had chewed through the dryer vent and mutilated the dryer hose. He noticed another hole in the kitchen. He put wooden baseboards in my kitchen and bathroom to plug up the holes. Went to the pet store to purchase dog food since my dog was not eating the food as the rats had been in there. I also purchased a plastic bin to store the food. Went to management to see if I could move to another apartment until this issue was resolved. I was informed there were no apartments available. I mentioned that I had purchased a brand new bag of food. The only response after asking again to be moved and being told there were no apartments available and that I am not the only tenant with this problem, to take $ 35.00 off my rent. Knowing I had a rat problem and pest control only comes on Tuesdays, they did not come to my apartment. Management placed an emergency call to have the tech return. The tech came to my apartment where he placed 4 more traps and noticed I had 3 additional holes. The tech said he would return Thursday for a follow-up. Came home at lunch to wait for the tech. Maintenance came to find another rat was caught. He removed it. I was unsure if pest control was coming to my apartment as it was going on 2pm. I called Western Pest Control to verify . The receptionist informed me she had no record and I would have to go through my complex. I explained my situation and I did not feel comfortable doing so. She paged the tech and informed me he would be here after 3pm. At that time, the tech mentioned to me he told management to plug up the hole from the outside where the rats were entering.

I called management to verify the holes were plugged. In particular, the one outside. I was informed no, and they would have maintenance come this morning. I was also informed that my neighbor had a rat and plugged up their hole. I believe this is why I have a rat problem, because they plugged up their hole and I wasnt notified of their problem. Who knows if the problem started from next door to carry over to my apartment or vice versa. Either way, this complex is infested with rats and management is doing nothing to resolve the issue.
