We were trying to rent one of the 2/2 condo. Gave application fees and deposit to Crescent Place Condo LLC management (guys who are in crscent place rental office). We kept asking to sign the lease as we already gave the notice in our current apartment and needed new address for movers etc. We went to rental office 3 or 4 times but everytime we were told that background check was in process. My wife is on dependent visa and did not have Social Security yet, but we were told its fine as my credit history and background was good. The day we went to sign the lease(after 11-12 days) we had surprise of our deposit increased by 10 folds. We were asked to bring in new deposit money order to sign the lease. My wife and I were told that Crescent place has strict policy of charging high deposit if one of the occupants does not have SSN. We argued that why they kept telling earlier that its alright without my wife's SSN and waited until the end. Our current house was already rented, so we have to move out of it in a week's time. I did not want to rent with Crescent Mgmt anymore and receive new surprises. We were in panic/desperate situation to find any apartment as we did not have any place to live after a week's time (thanks to Crescent mgmt). We ended up siging lease in a very small 1 bedroom apartment that was available for our requirement dates. So instead of moving into 2/2 bedroom with 1100 sq feet, we are now moving into 1 bedroom 660 sq feet. We were later told by Crescent Place that it was misunderstanding and communication gap, but we still suffer from their iressponsible acts. I would not recommend to rent through them if you don't want unpleasent surprises.

Those people at the office just smile, they don't help in any way! Not surprised by your experience man...but I feel really sorry for you.
