los altos is a scary, low class dump. I just moved in from out of state 2 weeks ago and after my second day there I tried to get out of my lease due to the trash, noise, crime, parking and dog feces that covers the entire comon areas. I am actually fearful for my safety and today was told that someone was recently murdered there. Please contact altamonte police department for crime statistics.(I do not know this to be factual but am trying to find out from the police department) I could not get any replies to my comlaints from rental agent or manager for a week so decided to appear in person. when I came in to office to confront them the told me they were closed and shut the door. Please do not make the same mistake I did.

I am a former resident and reviewer (my post is 11/9/2005) and I also relocated from another state to Los Altos Apartments, so I definitely understand what you're going through. My advice is to see an attorney and see how you can get out of your lease. Most attorneys offer free consultation. Also, keep detailed accounts of dealing with the management, maintenance, pictures of the grounds, etc. As for the crime, the link below lists statistics for all apartments in altamonte springs. For anything further, contact the commanding officer of the district in the which the apartment is located (sometimes called PSA's). If you get no response, go higher up the chain of command...eventually they will respond. I hope this helps and best of luck to you! Thanks for taking the time to respond and for the link. I want to update this review and say that UDR stepped up and did the right thing. I received a response to my emailed complaint within 24 hours from the UDR district manager, and found her to be extremely professional, caring and committed to making things right. I am now in another one of their properties and could not be happier!
