Moved here to get away from another Altamonte Springs apartment community that had crime,vagrants,drug dealers, ect. ect.
First impression was positive as you could immediately see the contrast between where I had come from and Vineridge! Residents seemed more upscale and the place was much more quiet. However I work nights and get the privelidge of driving down the streets and seeing the "night element" hanging around and glaring at you as you drive by. So it seems this place is inhabited by both good and bad elements. So far I wasnt too concerned about that. Moving on to my fourth month my car was broken into and the stereo was stolen. I know things like this happen but, my complaint is that I had to park my car literally 500 yards from where I stay and it was a poorly lighted area! Ok I got over it and then not a month later my apartment was broken into. Someone had to know that I wasnt home to be successful. So this gives me the feeling that the bad guys live in the community and that they study ones commings and goings. I notified management and pleaded with them to either let me relocate or to let me out of my lease because the robbers hadnt totally cleaned me out and would be probably be back for the rest of my items! I was told that I could speak directly to the manager .And even after calling in twice and making an appointment, the manager "Bridgett" was conviently unavailable. There response was with indiffrence to my cituation. Someone other than the supposed manager "Bridgett" basically said that if I wanted to move to another apartment that I would have to pay the transfer fee, further if I wanted out of my lease that I would have to pay to lease termination fee. Real nice huh' Couldnt even speek to the manager! And now as I go throuh the remainder of my lease I come home every night fearful that I might encounter an empty apartment or the burglers in progress. Existence is now a permanent state of relaxed paranoia as every time I hear a noise or a bump I spring up and attempt to arm myself with whatever I can find laying around. My main complaints are with the crime, and the staffs response to my cituation. The grounds are pretty good, appliances are ok(my dishwasher doesnt dry dishes though). Residents during the day are somewhat friendly. Not to mention this place is defenitely well constructed as it has already wheathered hurricane Charley and Frances with no damage and no loss of power.
If this place had some real security guards and a more understanding staff I would still want to live here. Oh yeah the comments about the roaches and ants are true but if you keep roach bait handy and spray about once every three months you will have no problem.
