Great Experience so far...

I've been living at Post Lake for about a month now and it's the best fit for me in the area.
My decision was based on the fact that I _really_ wanted to keep my dog, and it's a very pet friendly community. You have to give $300 deposit, and that kind of sucks...$100 of it is non-refundable.
Secondly, there was a very good special. It was over $100 cheaper a month vs. the normal price. That savings increased if you had a bigger apartment (they have up to 3 bdrm I believe). This price is, from what I understand, locked in for a year.
The lease isn't for a year. The way their leases work you basically renew it by paying rent. This "renewal" happens every other month. So you have to make sure that if you are looking at moving out that you do it the right way and don't have to pay them that early termination fee.
The grounds are pretty secure...you can't get in without a card or a remote. The only tricky thing is that if you are expecting guests you have to either buzz them in from your phone or be there with them at the gate to let them in. If somebody asks to be let in to see you they won't let the guests in...I think that this is "a good thing".
The grounds are very nice, I can take my dog for walks and enjoy the landscaping. They have the standard ammenaties, basketball hoop, tennis courts and pool. I don't know if you can fish in the lake but I'm going to ask. For the 1 bedroom apartments some of them have W/D hookups...the smaller ones don't but they have a larger bedroom.
The staff was very helpful. My first security card didn't work and it only took a minute for them to set me up with a new one. During that time I noticed that the groundskeepers/maintinance people were tending to business vs. just sitting around...so I have no doubt that should I have a problem they would take care of it.
I have bad credit so I had to pay the full security deposit in addition to the first months rent...so moving in was a bit expensive, but it will still be more affordable than anyplace else in the area in the long run. If you have good credit you don't need a security deposit...just that first months rent and your pet deposit if you so desire.
You are free to modify your closets, fans, decks as you wish as long as when you leave it's in the same condition that it was when you moved in. I plan on screening in my porch and adding a fan to my bedroom for instance.
The location is nice because it's pretty easy to get in and out without having to wait forever...there's a traffic light right in front of the entrance. I-4 is a few minutes away and anyplace you need to go shopping is right on 436.
If I am done wrong on anything I'll post it on here, but I really think that this place is a pretty good deal for most people. It's not the most extravigent apartment in the world but when you mix in the price and the features I'd reccomend it.
