First came here with a decent impression of the place. We decided to move in here because of the availability and the overall appearance of the community (seemed clean, quiet and well kept).

Not too long after making an election for a first floor apartment, it turned out that a former office staff member decided to rent the place out to his/herself and not tell anyone about it. So, we ended up with a second floor apartment for the same price. One of the primary selling points for us was a first floor apartment for accessibility (even though we both now would prefer a place above first floor).

Upon first inspection of the apartment, several things were wrong - missing knobs on stove, stove-top itself not working, messed up blinds in every room (including totally nonfunctional vertical blinds in second bedroom) and water not even working properly in the bathtub (turn knob left, you get warm water at best, turn right and just cold water). I realized later that the knob is supposed to turn one way and allow the water to reach full warmth (scalding hot). The water issue in the bathroom was fixed immediately. Also had issues with the lock on the front door which was nearly impossible to use until they used some lubricant on it to loosen it up. Never received the second mailbox key and got an extra room key for some odd reason. Also, recently discovered are issues with our air conditioning - the thermostat is batty (temperature is always displayed at 80 degrees, no effect on actual function). Although I had to take off the faceplate of the thermostat and tighten the box to the wall so it wouldn't slant and cause the AC to come on at lower temperatures (net effect: lower electricity bills after fixing = big deal). Oh yeah, another "nice" thing we were looking forward to having was also broken - our freezer's ice maker. Still isn't fixed.

I'd also like to mention that I hate the fact that the front gate is always broken. It's like someone keeps smashing it in and for a while, anyone can drive right on in with their car without a remote or access card. Often times you'll see guests pull up in the guest lane and realize the gate is broken and just drive in without permission. That's just annoying...

This place can also be very loud with the kids playing in the middle of the street, leaf blowers, standard noisy neighbors and loud dogs. But that's all normal, right'

One serious concern: Since I work at home on the weekdays (Internet) I have odd hours. We were sleeping in on a Monday and we hear knocking at our door at around 9:30 AM. Eventually I pull myself out of bed to see who it is and before I get to the door, they are trying to unlock and open our door! Luckily one of us remembered to lock the second internal lock! You can't unlock the door from the outside in that case. Soon after I overheard someone saying "The door's locked" over and over again as they relocked the door and walked away quickly. I have a feeling we would have had strangers greeting us in bed - that would have easily translated into a potential physical injury to any one of the men "greeting" us. I think it was the maintenance crew returning unannounced (supposed to be Tuesday) to fix the ice maker that's been broken since we've been here - haven't heard from them since that situation and today is Saturday.

Would you want maintenance people walking in on you in the morning if you happen to be sleeping in on a weekday (say you're sick) and don't make it to the door in time' Not a fun way to start your day.

It also just so happens that we received improper paperwork several times from the staff during the initial setup process. One time the paperwork showed the price for the apartment on a longer lease term, even though ours is shorter and is actually more expensive. We also still have to go down and sign more paperwork that they've forgotten to have us sign originally from the start.

This is my first experience with a place of my own so I can't gauge it in comparison to other experiences, but I can say this: The apartments are decent, the staff can be forgetful, rude and a bit slow at times (I can think of a specific woman to point out, but can't for privacy reasons), sure the pine trees dirty up your car and yes, the trash area piles up and looks like a landfill as mentioned in previous posts and there are the occasional dog piles to look out for and flooding in walkways can be a problem, but other than that, seems like an OK place to live... I guess. We've only been here for less than 2 months.

I have never had any problem with the maint staff. when i call i call on a day i will be available so i wont have any problem with them entering when im sleeping. that is probably why they didnt fix your ice maker, U LOCKED THE DOOR. everytime i call in a request the office staff will ask me, if you dont answer do they have permission to enter and fix things, ive lived here for 5 years now. you are just trippin! and what u never make mistakes?

I've been here 6 years, the staff is rude, and not efficient. I have heard the comments its not my job, bad wording. Flooding is a problem, call about it and nothing is done.

The above mentioned ice maker isn't fixed because the main person didn't come on the day the tenant was told they would be their. The still haven't returned. Their are many tenants still waiting on the promises they got last time they renewed. It has been over a year and still nothing that was promised has happened.

This is "etm1" again. I believe what I forgot to mention (which I thought was ironic and funny that this happened) was that the day we were moving out of that apartment (Aug 06), they asked us for the second mailbox key (we didn't receive, reference above, 4mo prior to moveout) and argued that we signed something and thus must have been lying. I found it petty, but hey, they're going to replace the mailbox lock because of their poor management (even though they blame it on us), and we still won't pay for it. I figured that was a plus!!!
