THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU

I am requesting an investigation on Olen Company (Indian Hill Apartment)'s illegal practices regarding deposit reimbursements. This apartment complex is renovating their apartments at the tenant's expense. I received the statement of deposit and in it are charges for paint of $200 and carpet replacement of $223. My carpet was in perfect conditions when I vacated. Furthermore, Indian Hills leasing contract requires the tenant to give a deposit of 700 from which they keep $200 for 'apartment remodeling and painting' (so why are they charging me an additional $200 for painting from my refundable $500). During my stay at this place I've seen that every time a tenant vacates an apartment they are replacing the carpet. My guess is that they are replacing carpets most of the time at the tenant expense. Actually, I saw a claim in 'apartmentrating.com' where another tenant was complaining that this community was also charging him with carpet replacement. This is a big corporation in South Florida with a number of apartment communities and my guess is that they are carrying out these illegal practices in all of their communities. Therefore I am imploring the Palm Beach County Consumer Affairs Department to investigate these people so that these illegal practices don't continue to occur.
