You can get something much nicer for the same $

I would not recommend Slumpiper Cove (as my husband calls it) to anyone. While it's not all bad there are a few things that really need to be addressed. The apartment interiors are very outdated. When we moved in we complained about our stove, which is in terrible shape, bottom drawer is rusted out, burners on stovetop won't stay in place and oven door is about to come off its hinges. I am scared to use the oven for anything as I am afraid the whole door will come off on me. We complained about this but were told by an office worker (that lives on property) that her stove is just as bad, and the management just won't do anything about it. The light fixture in the master bath is rusted out, windows dont' have screens, weather stripping on doors worn out so bad that little geckos can crawl in. One of our neighbors had a sofa and desk out by front door for the longest time. It was embarassing to have a friend over. Bathrooms are very very old with dated yucky little tiles on floor. The property is not gated but really needs to be. On the plus side, we like our floor plan. There have been some maintenance issues that were addressed within a reasonable timeframe. Our washing machine died and it was replaced within a few days, which was a shock since they seem adamant about not addressing the stove issue. There is plenty of parking, and it is fairly quiet, with the exception of the occasional loud stereo driving by. The office staff generally seem confused and unable to give you any kind of answer within a reasonable timeframe if at all. Some of them can be confused AND RUDE. I think there is a new manager, whom I have not met. They keep the grounds in pretty good shape. They have just started the process of painting the buildings exteriors which is long overdue. The few encounters I have had with the maintenance personnel have been pleasant. I have only met 2 of them, and they were both friendly. If they would update the interiors and add a gate it would be much nicer here. Also they really need to address things like window screens missing. We like to open our windows in the winter months. As far as rude & dumb office staff that seems to be par for the course for apartments. We won't be renewing our lease. This place does not attract the best tenant because for the same $ or just a little more you can get a much nicer place, that is safer.
