Carlton Arms looks really nice on the outside- lovely lakes, cannels. Soon you find out these are just retention ponds full of mosquitoes. They have a major wildlife problem at Carlton Arms- you dare not let your little kids outside! The non-fenced retention ponds have gators just relaxing on the shore- and you dare not go near any of the ponds because the gators will get you. Raccoons are a major problem at Carlton Arms- you cannot leave anything outside because they will destroy it.

Then once you move in- you realize that the inside of your apartment is stuck in 1978 with your outdated cabinets, fixtures, and decades old appliances. My dishwasher in my apartment was older than I was!

My upstairs neighbor was one of the maintenance employees that works for the complex- every weekend my hallway leading up to my front door would reek of marijuana- coming from his apartment. The apartments are so old and badly insulated that you hear every noise from your neighbors- every foot step, creek, and bathroom break . plus the marijuana smell would seep into our apartment.

They discriminate at Carlton Arms- they put all the older residence at one end, the younger couples at another end, then they put anyone with a foreign name or non white race in a totally different part of the complex- I fell into that category. I m not prejudice at all, but we all joked about how the office staff was for doing that- they claim they didn t.

When we moved out we still had about a week left on our lease. We moved- leaving a few items in our apartment to pick up the next day. Well, our upstairs neighbor (and employee of the complex who had keys) broke into our apartment and stole everything we left! My next door neighbor witness this- but the office wouldn t do anything about it. I told them I didn t want to get him in trouble- I just want my stuff back- just tell the guy we know it was an honest mistake- he thought we moved out- just give us or stuff back. The rude office manager lady sad she can t do anything
