Carlton Arms is nice on the outside- but the inside of the apartments need serious updating. The apartments were built in the late 1970's- and not much has been done since then. Our appliances (dishwasher, stove, air conditioner) are all over 25 years old. Insulation between the apartment is horrible- you can hear everything your upstairs neighbor is doing. Mail service is horrible- the mail man always puts your mail in the wrong box and half the time your mail goes missing- the office says they can't do anything about it. Carlton Arms raises their rent every year by about $50 for no reason what so ever. Just this year alone the raised my rent twice (Totaling $80) They probably need the extra money to pay their 30 employees that ride around on their golf carts doing nothing. The two laundry rooms are horrible- good luck finding an open washer and drier. I find doing your laundry at 4 AM the best time to find an open washer. The guards at the gate are a joke- half the time they don't even come to the door- so I just drive thru with out stopping. Good luck getting anything fixed if it breaks- sure, they'll come out right away and try to fix it- but it ends up breaking again as soon as they leave. It took 5 calls and three different employees to finally fix my A/C. There's a lot more I could write- but I will leave it at this for now- don't move here!
