I moved here 3 years ago expecting this to be an interim till I found something "better" for my kids and I. Well, we haven't left, it's turned out we're very happy right here. We're right on the water, beautiful sunsets, safe and quiet neighborhood, friendly neighbors, maintenance that takes good care of any need that crops up. There's really no reason to leave, the value can't be beat. There are a few down-sides, but the benefits FAR outweigh. Those few low lights are we have to use laundromat, there are no w/d in units, and rent does go up every year which is quite annoying, but it's my understanding that's pretty universal with rental properties.
