wow, this place is just AWFUL. where to even start.
We moved over here from the east coast of florida. it's a 3 hour drive, we left at 1 and the office closed at 5. we hit some major traffic in orlando. we called to let them know we were running a tad late and to please wait an extra 15 minutes for us. they refused. so we had to stay at a hotel that night and wait until the next day, at which point she was 20 minutes late getting to the office.
before we signed our lease we thought we better check out the apartment and thank god we did. we had requested a 2 bed 2 bath and they gave us a 2 bed 1 bath. we went back to the office to "check records" at which point she left us for about 30 minutes, then came back and said "yeah, we have no 2/2 available", we discuss some "options" then she calls her manager and finds out there are some 2/2, but they just need cleaning. she says we can move into the 2/1 and then transfer us to a 2/2 once it's ready and she'd put a rush on the cleaning. She finally apologizes for the inconvenience and gives us a few discounts/waive a few fees.
so we move in and the place was gross. beer cans and condom wrappers littered the "grass" (i used the term grass loosely as it was really just dirt and weeds). i figured "ok, it's a sunday, maybe maintenance hasn't got to it" but a week later it's still there.
the apartment itself looked nice. LOOKED. there were 2 leaks, in a closet and the kitchen, as well as a tiny ant parade crawling through the wall into the kitchen. the closet doors are awful, they all look like they are going to fall off with the slightest touch. aside from that the apartments were pretty decent, i have to admit.
the next day we went to talk the office to discuss the new apartment to transfer to, as well as a few other things, and they pretty much said "eh, it happens". they really didn't seem to care about what happened as they were getting new management. they gave us a list of apartments they could get ready quickly and that was that. we went down 2 days later to talk to them about it again, to see where they were at and they said they could have a place ready in 5 days (mind you we had been here almost 5 days and they were already supposed to have a rush on cleaning a unit) and that some of the apartments she said we could have she may have already leased. at this point which just gave up and found a new place.
on top of all that, the noise here is awful. i work from home and all day all i hear is people stomping around everywhere, bass blasting, and people talking. not talking loudly, just regular talking, but you can hear it as if it were in the next room over. then at night it just got louder. the place also doesn't feel safe, lots of shady people around. also there are little gnats flying around the apartment all the time.
the construction here is pretty shoddy too. there are a few structures (gazebos and such) that are just about falling over, the support beam in front of our apartment is bowing pretty awful, and a few of the balconies are crooked, with railings just about falling off.
oh yeah, and their official website lies. there are NO ceiling fans, there are only w/d hook ups in SOME apartments, and the rent they list is what we are paying AFTER our 2 months free prorated deal.
again, apartment itself, not so bad, but be ready to put up with lots of noise, not feeling safe, an ugly and unorganized complex, and the most incompetent office staff i have ever seen. avoid this place at all costs.
ps - only reason maintenance got 3 stars is because we have not dealt with them.

Yep, I agree completely! I'm sitting here in my overpriced apartment listening to other people's loud music, a leaking tub faucet I've made 2 requests to fix, and a piece of crap apartment. Oh, and they don't accept complaints on weekends AND they have to be in writing!!!!
