The apartment is OK, but the management; horrendous. When their trash bins overflow, which is often, you are forced to leave your trash in your apartment.If you walk into the office on the 4th late, they will refuse your check and make you get a money order, plus they assess a hefty late fee. When I moved out they refused to do a walk-thru with me. Three months later I get calls from a collection agency stating I owe for a carpet replacement and my last month's rent, which I have proof I paid. I offered to settle by only paying for the carpet, but my offer was ignored. Trust me, DO NOT RENT HERE!

As I'm reading your comments I recall I lived at another Equity Property location which is the company that owns Sawgrass Cove in Winter Park Florida & when I moved out they also 'did not have the time' to do a walk thru with me when I left & several weeks later I received a letter from them with the same carpet issue & they wanted to charge me for carpet replacement.. I went back to the office there & asked to see the carpet & the 'supposed damage'.. I was told that the apartment had already been rented & they could'nt show it to me so I told them I would get an attorney & show them the pictures I had taken of the apartment prior to my leaving.. This must be a scam with them since it's hard to argue carpet although the carpet in this apartment when I moved in was horrid & matched the rest of the place especially the refrigerator.. What I do notice about this community is that they show favoritism to couples as opposed to me a single renter.. I have a new neighbor husband & wife team & they fall all over them & I pay my rent on the first online so they should like people like me regardless of my marital status and that type of thought process on their part is called 'discrimination'..

A way to avoid the walk through situation, is to make an appt, sit in there office, and refuse to go away. This is what I have done in the past. It is a scam, but you can beat it.
