If you're thinking about purchasing a 'condo' here, I'd like to make sure you are aware of what is going on. Personally, I haven't had too many issues with bugs, broken things, or horrid neighbors. What I would like to address are the 'rennovations' that are taking place.

Right before we were informed of the condo conversion, rent for every apartment skyrocketed. Obviously, this was to give them more money for the next phase: Operation Cover-Up. Seriously. They have installed a lovely fountain, painted the outsides of all the buildings, and are re-doing the landscaping (which hasn't been touched in the 5 years I've lived there). As people move out, they are replacing carpeting and tiles, as well as re-painting.

Sounds nice, right' But what isn't happening is fixing what you don't see. Water damage in the walls' It's getting painted over so you don't see the evidence. Termites/rotting wood' Paint over that, too. Everything is being made to look pretty, but nothing is really getting fixed. And once you buy one of these 'condos', you are stuck with having to fix everything that you find out is wrong.

These are old apartments. They are not going to get any newer by applying a few coats of paint and adding flowers. For the love of god, if you do plan to buy here, *please* make sure you inspect your unit closely before signing any paperwork. Know what you are getting yourself into.
