El Dorado is pretty ghetto. Within the last week an apartment was broken into and a tenant was shot in a drug deal gone wrong. I am not lying or exaggerating at all. Drug deals happen here on a constant basis and the cops are always in and out of the parking lot and around the courtyards arresting people. I've never personally been afraid living in this complex (I grew up in Detroit so the crime here in Brandon seems pretty tame)but some of my friends are hesitant to come and visit me here.

The maintenance is really horrible. You usually have to ask a couple of times before the problem is resolved and even then they usually have to come out at least once more before the problem is actually corrected. I've had them out to fix my A/C 3 times since summer began this year.

I do do have to add that the apartments are quite large for the price and management is quite lax with people staying over who aren't on the lease, extra animals living in the apartment etc. As long as you pay your rent on time and keep your nose clean management doesn't really care what you do.
