I knew it was a bad idea from the beginning, but I had to save money. There were problems in the beginning where the first couple apartments weren't inhabitable, so the complex would call me and change the date and apartment. Once they got me an apartment that they could actually legally lease, they wouldn't let me see it until I signed the lease. I finally got them to agree to give me the key for a quick viewing by giving them my wallet for collateral.

Upon moving in, I did my walkthrough and there were no screens or locks on the windows, several of the lights didn't work, my closet light wouldn't work unless the bathroom light was on. One of the tubs was clogged, the garbage disposal didn't dispose. The list goes on. But they fixed everything super fast, so I was happy.

A month later, my AC stopped working. They came over and recharged my Freon. That was in March. They have since recharged my Freon 16 times. I was told that hell would freeze over before they would replace my AC because they are systematically replaced when the current tenants move out. My understanding is that they are not legally up to code.

The worst part was the open gasoline that my upstairs neighbor had in his storage area on the patio. It infiltrated all 5 of the connected apartments and it took 4 days to get anyone out to even check it out. The fire department came and evacuated us, but left when they found no natural gas. Management at the complex had absolutely no concern for the safety of the people in our building. They locked my neighbor out of the maintenance office when he was trying to get them to come help us because it was 5 minutes until they closed and they said they would deal with it the next day.

Last week, I came home to a guy urinating on the side of the building next to mine. They have a tree in front of that building called the "crack tree". I'm sure you can guess why. The cops come out almost every night.

When I first moved in, the security guard told me that I should not become friends with my neighbors because they would steal everything I own. He said to make sure to vary my schedule so maintanence couldn't memorize it because they have keys and will steal my stuff and sniff my panties. Seriously. Although I would like to say that I don't necessarily believe that they do that. (Edited to add that I do find the maintenance people to be very nice. They are limited by management and understaffing in what they can do to help.)

I found out from someone who used to work security there that the complex was almost closed down just over a year ago (after the dead guy was burned in his car) because of all the drugs and safety violations. They were court ordered to have security on site from dusk til dawn.

There's tons of people walking around smoking marijuana. OUTSIDE. Security is okay with that. There's loud parties on balconies. Dogs are often left out on balconies and bark all day and night. The upstairs apartment sounds like a bowling alley starting at 2 am every night. Again, I would like to mention that the cops are at our complex EVERY NIGHT. The outdoor lights in my building go out for a couple days every month. I work until almost midnight and have to walk to an unlit hall to get to my apartment, in a complex full of drug dealers.

Please don't move here. Please. I know the apartments are good sized for the price, but read the reviews. Do you want your children to be exposed to this place'
