Very simple. The place is maintained. My apartment is perfect. I have a 2 minute ride to work. I swim everyday in the pool.

It is truly hard to know where to begin.
I moved in because my husband and I had just seperated, and we decided to live in the same complex (because of our daughter needing to adjust). He picked this place because it was close to his job. I so should have known better.
I moved in and the very first thing I notice is that the kitchen cabinet hardware is literally rusted so bad that every time I opened my cabinets rust would flake off, often into the food on the counter. I reported it. Nothing happened.
I then did laundry in the washer provided in my apartment...I made the mistake of assuming since the first two loads were ok that the next would be as well, and I went shopping instead of watching my laundry. I came back and the water was STILL running trying to fill the washer to start. I stopped it and checked my clothes...my brand new clothes which I had bought that weekend...they were completely ruined by the bleach that is in the city water around there. I reported it. Nothing happened.
I then had my air conditioner die on me. In summer. In FLORIDA summer. I was pregnant at the time. The air conditioning was out for THREE DAYS. I miscarried my baby, and I still believe it was due to the extreme stress that this apartment caused me. I reported it. Nothing happened.
I came home one morning (I worked nights) and noticed the oddest thing. Several people were standing around at the ground floor of my apartment building, almost right under my apartment (I was on the third floor). I didn't think much of it, then I walked in to my apartment. It was flooded. The toilet in the extra bathroom (which I literally had never used) was overflowing its tank for no apparent reason. I shut off the water at the back of the tank and freaked out trying to save my furniture which was getting wet at the bottom. I was so lucky. The people below me were so not.
One woman and her huband were woken up by their baby girl saying "It's raining in my room" at one in the morning. They turned on lights and it WAS raining...in their entire apartment. The woman got shocked trying to turn off her electric to keep it from starting a fire. The other couple were also experiencing rain INSIDE their apartment, all from my third floor broken toilet. They had been calling the emergenct maintenance all night with absolutely no response. All maintenance had to do was go turn off the freaking water. I was told by one of the women waiting outside that the maintenance man was having an affair with the office personnel, and that apparently they would not answer her calls because of some stupid friendship drama. Nice. Everything these families owned was completely ruined, every stick of furniture, every single picture, every single bit of everything.
The apartments sent men (the NEXT DAY) to vacuum up the water, and set fans on for THREE days (omg the noise) instead of replacing the carpets. The carpets never dried out correctly, I never got any other assistance with it other than them sending a man out to spray vile chemicals into the carpet every time I called to complain about the mold smell that permeated my apartment. The carpet came up in every single doorway, and was never fixed. The families below me never got reimbursed, and were not able to save anything at all from their apartments except for some of their clothing.
The lights never ever worked on my stairwell (third floor, remember?). I reported it. Nothing happened.
There were ants in my apartment, and dead roaches all the time. I reported it. Nothing happened.
This place was so incredibly bad that I was forced to leave before my lease was up. Since I did not retain a lawyer, I had to pay them four THOUSAND dollars three years later in order to get off my credit so I could rent again. I am still utterly disgusted by the entire experience.
