some negatives, excellent for the price

The ratings are difficult because they don't reflect many important features. These buildings are very well constructed but are very old, 10 years, and because of which are inefficient in heating and cooling, have some minor cracks in plaster, fireplace leaks when it rains, wooden stairwells echo footsteps etc. Also, the AC, appliances, and water heaters are only replaced when broken, so some are very old and have variability in function. (My oven has yet to reach the temperatures set and has to be gauged by an oven thermometer. My water heater was only replaced after leaking profusely.) Maintenance is very quick to respond but depending on who you get, your problem may not be fixed the first time. The parking availability, lighting of the parking, and landscaping tends to change depending on your building. the buildings along the main drive are kept much nicer than the back ones but have crowded parking. The lights in my parking area are broken and the lot is somewhat dark and poorly landscaped but it's not unsafe and there is always ample room to park. Ask for your apartment building number as soon as it is available to check the building location and check the building's A.C. units to see if they are ancient - this will greatly change your electric bill. Do NOT use the laundry facilities as they are dirty and often used by people who don't live there, but renting is easy and appliancewhse.com is very familiar with the complex. These apartments are bigger and cheaper than the newer ones across the street so I think you get a good quality for your money. The office staff has been very friendly and helpful. My rent has never been lost. They have a small selection of videos to rent which are changed out frequently for a new selection. Pest control is free and available on Thursdays if you tell the office ahead of time that you want it that week. The ethnic diversity in the complex is balanced and many of the residents are families. The pools and ponds are well kept. The complex is safe and mostly quiet. All in all, a very nice place to live for the price. I am only leaving beacause I need a garage. These are all of my negatives. For an apartment in this area this complex is excellent.
