They lie

I called the office about having a small party for my 16 year old son. They said that I could use the pool area and grill, but I could not rope the area off. The way they have the pool area set up is they have an area that has a bar like area, with a sink and counter space and then the grill. This is actually an amenity that they tell you about when their trying to get you to lease. We were there two hours into the party and a leasing agent (Rachael)approaches us and tells us we have to leave. We did not have any music and was not doing anything to cause this interuption. She proceeded to then complain about trash that was not even ours. She said that we were only allowed 2 people per tenant on the lease. Now this was Memorial weekend when alot of people were enjoying the pool area, family and friends. There was actually 4 other get togethers going on. I believe we were singled out because we had the counter area. She leaves and an two hours later comes back with the POLICE. The police of course could not do anything because we were doing nothing wrong. At this point I pointed out that she was singling us out and that she needs to look around. Then this young lady went to every get together basically ruining everyone's afternoon. I have lived here almost two years and have never had this happen. Other tenants I spoke to say they use the area all the time for holidays and so forth and had never experience such rudeness and immaturity before. Forty five minutes go by, then the manager arrives and she wasn't even on duty that day. She comes back with the POLICE telling us that we are only allowed 2 people per tenant. This mental anguish went on for over 3 hours. And where did this get them, NO WHERE. Because we weren't doing anything wrong. At one point when the police officer approached us with the leasing agent, she even turned to us and said, "Look, I can't give you my opinion of this, but we have to respond" and shrugged her shoulders. The officer couldn't even understand what the hell all the fuss was about. The results, nothing, they told us if they get a complaint we'll have to leave. Does this make sense to anyone'' All of this happening in front of my child and other children at the party. The kicker of this whole situation is that I called the leasing office 2 weeks prior to make that they did not have a club house that I didn't know about. The leasing agent told me no, but that I was more than welcome to use the pool/grill area. I asked if there was a fee, she said no, but that I had to understand that I can not rope anything off and direct people away. This is new management at Providence Place and apparently they need a lesson on how to deal with situations and what steps are proper to take. There's a right way and a wrong way on approaching situations and they certainly did everything WRONG.
