I've been a resident here for 7 months so lease renewal time is coming soon. If you have recently moved out leave a post of what you think. We are surrounded by empty apartments and I really can't help but wonder why.
My biggest complaints are the paper thin walls/ceiling, HORRIBLE insulation, paper thin glass on all windows.
Oh yea there is this creepy dog guy that bothers the hell out of us.

We've lived here for 10 months--and we went ahead and renewed our lease until October 2010.
We have seen neighbors come and go the whole time we've lived here. Right now, most of the apartments are around us are empty. I have no idea why people keep leaving.
As far as the paper thin walls go---I think that would be true of any apartment complex. Our previous apartment (in Plant City) was MUCH worse than this. Since moving here, we've hardly heard our neighbors, people walking by, or traffic noise. I am so grateful for the peace and quiet that living here has brought to us. :)
I honestly have thought that the main reason people are leaving must be money related. If the leasing office hadn't agreed to keep our rent the same, we would have searched for a cheaper place ourselves.
I have no complaints to offer, this is the best place we've ever lived.

I agree that people may be leaving because of the economy. The Retreat is pretty reasonably priced, however, there are much cheapter apartments out there, but you get what you pay for. I have been concerned about the increase in crime in this complex recently. Gas being siphoned out of cars, people running around naked in the parking lots at night, car break-ins, apartment break-ins with thefts and several cop cars each week parked in the parking lots make me wonder what kind of people have been let in to this place. I know the economy is tough but when things like this happen, it makes us very uneasy, especially because nothing is being done about it. I am thinking about leaving because of this and so is my roommate. We do not feel safe anymore and that is sad. We thought it was really nice.

I can tell you why people are moving out, it is because they don't feel safe here anymore. There have been robberies going on and gangs of people wandering the grounds at all night long with no one to keep them in line. It used to be a lot of working people but welfare must be footing the bill the bunch they are letting in now. The police are here almost daily for one reason or another. My wife is now scared to stay there and tells me the place she picked to live is not the same place, it has changed in a short time. We will be moving out as soon as possible. To bad it is a really nice place, grounds well kept. Like the previous poster we thought it was nice to
