Appearance is everything. The grounds are well kept, the landscaping is pleasant, the outward look of the complex is somewhat attractive however.....
The pipe under the sink has cracked and
has damaged the undersink stoarge area.
The toilet cloggs and over flows onto the carpet.
The screening is torn, some windows are without screening at all.
The police visit on a regular basis for Gods knows what reason.
General repairs upon request are nearly nonexistant or tardy.
Parking is not assigned and often occupied by unoperable vehicles, trailors and visitors.
Make shift curtain rods and towel racks fall down easily.
Plaster on corners leading to deck and kitchen kiosk chipped and absent in many places,
Refrigerator in disrepair. Excessive amounts of rust on both refrig and freezer door. Temperature at highest setting barely able to freeze ice, forget about sorbet or soft frozen goods.
Poor insulation between apartments making it easy to hear arguments, telephone calls, and USE YOUR IMAGINATION.
Up until recently, trash collection at 4:30 am.Debris, garbage and glass surrounding outside of dumpster.
Laundry room has good setup. Now if residents woulds comply to the rules of good citizenship and remove the lint and hair from the dryer filters.. that would be pipsy-doodle!
On the positive side, management does not bother you about inconsequential matters. They are receptive to suggestions and are easy to approach re: problems.
They have recently incorporated a book swap which the residents enjoy and offer a comfortable sitting area inside the office building.
The pool is warm and absolutely spotless and well maintained.
Car wash and vac are available on grounds which is convenient and cheaper than a standard car wash.

The residnets are friendly and helpful and cooperative.
The neighboorhood is safe as are the residential grounds. The lighting is sufficient and well placed.
REMEMBER THIS IS A TEMPORARY RESIDENCE AND NOT YOUR HOME. CONDITIONS ARE NOT PERFECT, BUT TYPICAL OF APARTMENT LIVING. IT'S A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD THAT DOES NOT LEAK AND WITH SOME EFFORT AND CREATIVITY YOU CAN CREATE A LIVING SPACE THAT IS COMFORTABLE, ATTRACTIVE, COOL IN THE SUMMER AND WARM IN THE WINTER. THE END

"The police visit on a regular basis for Gods knows what reason." I find their patrols to be quite comforting actually. They don't seem to be here for disturbances but to patrol. As far as noise is concerned I can't hear any of my neighbors. Perhaps it was the unit you were in but the noise here is almost non-existant. I say almost because the floor boards creak a bit loud but that's all.
