I'll admit, I previously left a poor review about the Harbor about a year ago. The reason being, I encountered some disappointments very early in my stay that I didn't anticpate. Although some of the same problems do exist, the Harbor isn't as bad as everyone is proclaiming it to be. I feel the majority of the people on here are exaggerating a bit. Yes, parking isn't the greatest. Late at night, it is diffcult finding a space near your building depending on which building you live in. The walls are not as thick as they could be so you may hear outside noise or heated arguments. Due to the lake, there are mosquitoes and there's the occassional roach. However, this is Florida and after all you do live by a lake. The staff does make the effort to accomodate your needs. If not, it's always best to talk to the Property Manager. Every time I needed something fixed, it was done so immediatly. The staff is very good about sending notices about anything that may be occuring within the area. For example, when they repainted the buildings or if someone needed to enter the apartment for a particular reason. Compared to other apartments in the area, yes, the price is a little steep. However, you must think about what you receive in return. One bedrooms are over 800 sq ft. The first floor is handicapp access so you get more closet and bathroom space. When I contemplated moving because of the price, I was very disappointed with other apartments I visited. Cheap rent almost always equals smaller space, poor living conditions, and/or unsafe or unattractive environments. The landscaping at the Harbor is very nice and it is very quiet. You can't choose the neighbors you have just like you don't choose the family your in. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow. Overall, I would recommend the Harbor to anyone if it's within your price range. I lived lived here almost two years and plan to live here for the next year or so until I purchase a home.
