I'm currently seeking living arrangements elsewhere, because the owner of Sunshadow has absolutely no respect for those of us who are loyal, law-abiding tenants. I counted myself lucky after our first year here, that my husband & I were able to find a place central to both our jobs, well within our price range, and with the exception of the maintenance employee who lived below us for a few wks, have had no noise issues to speak of (past your obligatory passing car).

I was actually anticipating signing a new lease before this past week, when I opened the "Happy Anniversary" and renewal "invitation" to see that our nicely-priced 1B/1B apartment (with the smallest sq. footage of the apts.) is now priced at a sickening $239 MORE than we are currently paying.

Shocked doesn't even begin to describe what I was feeling. And when I called the office, I was further infuriated by the complete lack of a detailed explanation, or just a little empathy from the mgmt staff, who were so quick to pass the buck-of-blame to the "man who owns the property, who wants everyone at market value".

Ask me if I care about "market values"'

All that said to me was "we are greedy-ass s.ob.s and if YOU will not pay it, some other smuck will." I am completely incensed with Sunshadow now. Just when I thought I had found a nice, QUIET place to spend several years before we would be able to buy a home, the greed for the all-mighty $$ strikes again.

I could almost understand the price hike if we were located, say, near UCF or near Downtown Orlando/Attractions area. Or if our apartment were a condo, or had more sq. ft or more rooms. But we are not & it doesn't. The only difference I know of between this time last year and today, is the fact that now there are a lot of $200K homes being built nearby...maybe that raises the market value, but all I think of is "crap, more traffic".

I am glad, however, to see that there are others just as outraged as I am, and I hope that half the tenants leave this place a ghost town, and that these reviews discourage others from putting trust in these slimy weasels. (Sound bitter' Why yes, I AM.)

We'll see how well 'market value' does when dozens of apartments stay empty for months...

p.s.--Oh, for those of you that gave this place a thumbs up recently...how is that drastic rent increase taste now'

We always accomodate anyone with a price increase if they want to talk to someone.
