If you like roaches and termites it's the place for you

If you lived here and liked it, you must have a very low standard of living. You can't even take a shower in the master bedroom because there's no tub, just a old stall with barely a lip of tile to hold the water in. You will have a flood on the floor if any amount of water hits the inside of the shower curtain. The roaches and termites are ridiculous. There's a lot of mold in the walls that comes out through the bottom of the walls, so if you want respiratory infections and allergy aggrevators, this is the place for you. You'd better not have anything of value in your apartment either, because the crime rate is pretty high. If after all this you still think you might want to live there, make sure when you get there that you ask the management to show you the actual apartment you'll be living in (not the model) so that you can see all the busted cabinets with holes and roaches in them and all the mold and old dirty appliances. If you have kids and continue to live there, it's almost child abuse. The only way to get out of your lease that I see it is to not sign one in the first place!

Seferris, there's a little thing called a LEASE when you move in. Maybe YOU just break leases and don't care if your credit score reflects it. When someone RENEWS a lease and complains, that's one thing, but this is NOT the case here. You should read a post before you respond to it.

I agree, I'm in the same situation. You are promised the moon and stars when you move in and sign your name away for a year and then you realize it's a ghetto hell hole infested with roaches!!! You can't just pick up in leave, especially if you have kids enrolled in schools you are zoned for. They require a 2 month rent penalty for breaking a lease, so you break your lease, go somewhere else and you have to put down a deposit. You're looking a couple grand EASY to break your lease. If we had that kinda money, would wouldn't be renting because it's fun. Bottom line is, the managment has a responsibility to keep a safe, clean environment. This isn't government housing, we aren't getting reduced rates!! It's like saying, well if you don't like your car, then just bring it back to the dealer, drop it off and get a new one. You bind yourself in contract, unless you have a few grand to kill your newly found negative equity. Great quick response, but definitely not a smart one seferris.
