I moved out of there 2 weeks ago. Yes I broke my lease. I only paid for the rent concessions I got. (legal) Can't say I had any real problems. Yea I saw the gang and drug dealer problems there,(Orlando area is overrun with it) but when I reported it to --- she took care of it right away. The county sherrif was ALWAYS driving around at night. My neighbor upstairs had her air fixed the same day she called and it was on a saturday! My only advice is to READ your lease if you plan on breaking it. They WILL try and tell you that your responsible for the WHOLE term of the lease, but it IS NOT true. There is an addendum on the lease that lets you break it with a 60 day written notice (their form is only acceptable) and proof that your moving more than 30 miles away. Don't let Brittney in the office tell you that the lease itself voids ALL addemdums cause she WILL. I think they get to keep all the money they can cheet you out of cause they were willing to fight me up till the point when I mentioned that I spoke to Greystar's legal dept in Houston. She changed her tune real quick then. Yes I agree that some of the office staff NEEDS to go. --- if from the PREVIOUS property management company, and several others before them. Apparently in Florida they don't understand that to correct problems you have to start at the top of management and work your way down to fix the problems. All in all If you like the Orlando area (and we HATED IT) move there. The rent is fair compaired to ALOT of places close by with MUCH worse crime and gang and drug problems, and ALOT worse living conditions. We did NOT see roaches. However the exterminator who was told NOT to enter my place (I have birds) felt the need to come in and go through my dressers, cabinets and closets. Nothing was missing but it creeped me out to think he was rummaging around in my drawers. Again --- did correct the problem right away and when he called me to ask what the problem was (the owner of the extermination co) I told him NOT to enter again or I would file a claim with his bonding insurance co. the Orlando area in general is going downhill fast. It's not ---'s fault. She has to rent to anyone who qualify's and passes the background check. But boy oh boy if property managers could actually deniy people based on how they look or act. They do NOT let anyone with a drug conviction to rent, or anyone with a violent crime conviction either. You could do ALOT worse in the Orlando area!!
