It is too bad you never lived in our Gables apartment. You might have a different view of things.
We had one of their three bedroom units for a year, and it was a living nightmare. The noise from the tenants above us was unbeleivable. We eventually had to get foam earplugs for our kids just so they could get to sleep at night.
Our dealings with the office staff were very, very unpleasant. Some, but not all, were very nasty and condescending and did not want to be bothered with our problems. They were nice when they were giving us the tour of the property, they even gave our kids some candy, but once they got our money and we signed the lease, they did not want to know us. On one ocassion one of them even yelled at our daughter because she was wandering around the leasing office while I was using the bathroom. I came out and she was crying. I had a few choice words for that staff member.
We had numerous maintenance issues that never got resolved. It was not the fault of the maintenance guys, but rather the office staff who never followed up on things. Each time we contacted them to find out why they had not fixed our problems, they got nastier and even more rude. That is not the service they promised in their literature.
It really is not right to think that just because you did not have problems, that anyone else who did has something wrong with them. People have a right to complain if they feel they are not getting what they are paying for or when they are being disturbed by ignorant people around them who are not following the rules of the community. This place is not cheap and you would expect a little better service for that extra money.
If you do not have any problems and you enjoy living there, then good for you. I do not know where you came from, but we hated it and looked forward to the day when our lease would expire so that we could get out. Gables North Village was a complete disappointment for us and we think that whoever oversees the office staff there should take a closer look at what they are doing. It would also be nice if tenants had a place to express their concerns to other than the incompetant office staff. Instead of spending all the money on landscaping upkeep, maybe they should hire some educated professional people for the office staff and pay them a real salary.
When you see the pretty leasing center and pretty landscaping, you forget the fact that you are dealing with minimum wage employees who would be working behind the deli counter at Publix or as walk around characters at one of the theme parks if they were not working here at Gables. I guess that is the problem...
