My family lived at Mirasol for only one year. The crime was too much for us. The other problems were even worse.

We never imagined these things would happen in Celebration. Our new Lexus as broken into four times. Once the window was smashed. My sons car tires were slashed. My daughter had her bike stolen from the bike room.

This was all terrible. But it got worse. A boy who lived with his family at Mirasol who was friends with my daughter was coming home from a school sports game and as he walked through the Mirasol parking lot around 8pm he was attacked and beaten. The police were called and he was hospitalized.

My wife became frightened and looked up the county police reports and we were horrified to see over 85 police reports for Mirasol in one year. Think about it, that is almost two major crimes occuring per week.

For our own safety we moved from an outer building into the big main building. We stayed for less than six months. The vandalism is unreal. Black spray paint and graffiti all over the walls. The elevators have foul words dug into the woodwork. Lamps, tables, artwork on the walls are destroyed weekly. The lobby and other areas have to be repaired every week because of the damage.

Just when we thought we'd seen it all, then came the apartment leaks and the mold. The stench of the mold is enough to choke anyone.

But that isn't the end. My daughter was then bitten severely each night by fungus gnats. They are very tiny 1/10 inch long, grayish to black, slender, mosquito-like insects that fly and bite leaving painful welts on the skin. They are mostly found in black mold areas and rotting buildings. Mirasol is only a few years old and its already rotting inside the walls'

Then one night my wife came home late and she was white as a sheet. She said she exited her car in the parking lot and a large rat brushed against her foot. She saw a few others running around the parking lot. A few days later I saw one trying to get into the door of the building. Rats at Mirasol' The office staff just laughed when they heard this. If they didn't personally see the rat, it didn't exist.

It was stressful to live in that type of environment. The Gaw Reality staff daily walked up and down the halls screaming every morning about all of the lost sales they would have because of the crime, the leaking walls and dripping ceilings, the rotting drywall, the black mold, and extensive vandalisim. Residents were then threatened with immediate legal action and with eviction warnings if any of us mentioned the crime or other horrors to any perspective buyer.

That was the last straw for my family. Can you imagine being threatened with eviction for telling the truth'

Living in fear and being threatened by the sales staff daily was unbearable. We broke our lease and left.

I deeply pity the condo buyers who find their expensive investment at Mirasol worthless in a few years. Who wishes to spend over a half million dollars to live with crime, leaks, mold and rats'
