Let me start of by saying I've been here for 3yrs !
I've seen it all ! ! !
Out of the 3yrs that I've been here the gate which is located by building 4 has been working all together for "maybe" 6 months , if even that and there are 4 other families that have been here as long as I have and they can confirm that aswell.
The new Manager....well...she's HORRIBLE it seams like she has no respect for anybody and being a Manager somebody would think they'd have to dress casual and make their hair, well she looks like one of those hippies that hasn't taken a shower in ages, the hair looks like she's been riding a motorcycle to work every morning without a helmet. I don't know what is going on with greystar property management but they seam like to hire the wrong people for the job, now don't get me wrong not everybody is as bad as her, Joe as an example would be the perfect candinate for the Management position. He's always friendly, clean and respectfull and will actually do his best to help you. Maintenance on the other hand is doing everything but Maintaining the property, all they do all day long is drive around in their golf carts and look for cars with expired tags or for somebody leaving something in front of their door so that they can run to the office and leave you a note. They spent the last 2 weeks cleaning this place up and the reason for that was "THE OWNERS ARE COMMING" the hallways in my building were cleaned 2 times in 2 weeks do to the owners comming to take a look at the property , usally they do it once every 3-4 months or so.
Now back to the gate , 2 cars were damaged in the past 5 months by the gate not working properly that's what I have seen, I'm sure there are other people who's cars got damaged do the the gate malfunctioning.
Let's talk about the "Drug Dealers" Friday and Saturday nights pay attention to building 6&7 drugs are being dealt don't belive me, see for yourself , also the youngsters hanging in front of those buildings smoke marijuana on a daily basis and use profane language, it's like watchinga Ghetto Movie and again ...don't belive me please come and see for yourself. I think it's time to talk about the public swimming pool that we have (YES PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL)
Every Weekend we have a bunch of out of control youngsters that come over from the surrounding neighbourHOOD and go for a swimm in our pool, I realy wouldn't mind it to be honest but the way this kids behave and use profane language around my children and all the other parents and children that come to the pool...ughhh disgusting.
In the begining this was a great place to live , I loved it..but everything started going downhill after the first year, it is very sad to see this place go down like this, after all I call this place Home and unfortunately I won't be calling it Home for very long !

It IS a management matter when management allows convicted felons to live in the complex when it is stated in the lease that they can not. I have seen some of my neighbors on the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office website, and these are the same people that have caused problems in my building. And just so you know, I HAVE called the police. They put one neighbor in jail for a few months, but continued to live in my building for a while until he finally moved out. Management needs to take some responsibility for who they are letting live in the complex!!!

I appreciate what you're saying and you didn't mention in your earlier post you had notified the police. I didn't know there was a clause in the lease stating convicted felons cannot reside here. Are you sure about this? if you are indeed correct, then you have legal grounds to file a law suite, withold rent ... or vacate. Why are you still here? At the very least I'd continue to complain to the police and go to the mangement COMPANY until I had a solution.

I lived there a year ago and actually am moving back next month, It had its problems last year when they had an idiot for a manager, management has changed and they actually have 3 curtious officers, I work in FIRE/EMS and moving back in. Also the gates are never working because people keep running into them which breaks them. Very costly to replace... maybe if people learned to drive or better yet if they break them the complex break there car... hmm...
