I lived in Amber Crest in 2001 and find most of the reviews to be accurate. I am a student and was looking for quiet, affordable housing and thought Amber Crest would be great. However, they seem to let just about anyone move in. I had drug addicts across the hall, who eventually got evicted. Then drug DEALERS moved in across the hall (4 in a one bedroom, nice), which meant constant yelling and running up and down the stairs at all hours. The guy living next to me was a complete freak (always looking at girls, etc). I'm a single female and I've lived in New York City, and I felt safer there than in this complex. Oh PS - There's also a DayCare directly behind 2 of the buildings that lets the kids out to play at 7am EVERY MORNING. (Yes, Saturdays and Sundays). The kids aren't so bad, but you constantly hear the daycare workers screaming. The laundry facilities are horrible as well. Right before my lease was up, there was a knife fight. I also heard that one of the tenants there threatened the leasing office when her car was towed. There are better cheap places to rent at... look in St Pete. Or do what I did and shell out the extra $100 a month for a decent apartment in a safer community. It's well worth it. vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l
