First of all, I would like to comment that I think whoever wrote the review dated 5/3/02 obviously works for the new management company.
I lived at this complex for almost two years and the air really changed once the new management stepped in. I know that the new "rules" were a product of the new company, BUT the management team on site who were hired to interact with the tenants were extremely rude and unprofessional. For example, they installed new security gates ( a nice imporvment) but gave the access cards out with no instructions! Even though I consider myself a relatively smart individual, I had some issues with trying to figure out how to work the gate. I cannot imagine how long it might have taken some of the elderly tenants...
And they started allowing larger animals which, I'm sure is why they took all the carpet out; but the outside areas began to smell a little "doggy". Upon conversing with other tenants I found that some people paid for water, some didn't...(the rules seemed inconsistant) And just so you know, if your hot water heater breaks on a Sunday night, you're out of luck until Monday, because that is not considered an emergency.
I have rented apartments for about the last 9 years of my life and this is the only time I have felt compelled to express my distaste for the place where I lived. Audubon Villas WAS a very nice place to live. Go ahead and check it out. Talk to the management; read the lease CAREFULLY; talk to other tenants that live there; and make sure you look around and notice how many empty patios you see...their vacancy rate is very high, for a good reason!
