I lived there for 13 months on an 11 Month lease. Always paid my rent promptly on time.
I had some minor problems with the disorganization in the office - things like attempting to charge my account for old electric/water bills from when the unit was vacant, and such - but nothing to whine about really.

One and a half months after my lease expired however, ----- called me stating that my lease was 'about to expire', and that she was looking for a lease commitment. I informed her to get her facts straight - and expressed some concern about the trend of mistakes coming from here office. The conversation got heated when ----- just couldnt admit her mistake and insisted that I was in the wrong.

(psstWhy did your office send me a notice raising my rent 20% for month-to-month terms and if I am indeed still under a lease, Where was the additional 20% rent that I paid on the previous month''' LOL!!!)

Admittedly, I was disgusted and I let her know that she would get 30 days notice along with my final months rent - whenever I decided to move on, and that she would not be getting a move-out date from me on that phone call. She didnt like that apparently.

So a week later I closed on my new home, and I paid my final months rent in the usual way; I personally walked an envelope up to the office, sealed, containing a check for the final months rent, and a letter of intent to vacate(30 days). This time I also wrote across the front of the envelope in red Felt tip Marker 30 Days Notice.

The leasing office was unlocked, and inside was no sign of any leasing agents. Normally, they have a box for tenants to drop their rent off , However -------------- from the maintenance department was there, who informed me that he was watching the office in their absence. I informed him of what was in the envelope - he acknowledged and took receipt of it. That should have been it.

30 days later, I moved out.

According to my bank, the check for my final months rent was cashed day after I left, but the letter mysteriously vanished. Long story short...today I have a collection account on my spotless credit from Bay Meadows who claims that I simply abandoned my lease without giving 30 days. They are trying to extort an additional months rent from me! After paying over $10,000 to this office as agreed, they are now grabbing at my bank account at peril of my credit rating. Unbelievable.

The clincher is that on my numerous visits back to the office to confront them about this, they were never again able to produce -------------- because he was ALWAYS at lunch. They refuse to look at my copy of the 30 days notice, claiming I am a liar, and that it is falsified. Furthermore - on the check that I paid the final months rent, in the comment line it states "30 DAYS NOTICE!". I still have the canceled check and they still claim that I made it all up. They still will not look at any evidence to the contrary of their opinion.

To this day, Bay Meadows c/o ----- ----- claims that I never gave notice, but has never lifted a finger to research the facts.

RENTER BEWARE.

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT THIS LADY. BEWARE OF THAT LADY>>> AND THAST COMMUNITY. SHE WILL CREATE PROBLEMS WHEN YOU ARE LEAVING. SHE WILL TREAT YOU LIKE A CRIMINAL.. and SHE HAS THIS GHETTO(PROJECTS/FILTHY MOUTH) ATTITUDE. STAY AWAY FROM HER.. and THIS PLACE
