I have lived in Melrose for 2 years now. I am finaly leaving next month. The walls are paper thin, you can hear every conversation, tv show, everything that is going on in your neighbors apartment. Also the parking lot floods really bad everytime it rains. They have a big issue with mold. I have had maintenance in my apartment for mold about 6 times. They do not fix the problem just cover it up with paint. Every maintenance problem I have had they fix it by putting a big bandaid over it, they don't want to spend the money to fix anything properly and since the complex is old, there are maintenance problems on a regular basis. The cops drive in and out of the complex every night, I think the crime from Hyde point is comming over our way. Also the type of people living there is really going down hill as well. My one neighbor constantly parks in my spot, I have told the office but all they do is leave a note on my neighbors door telling him not to do it again. That doesn't work! Also everyone that has a dog doesn't pickup the dog ----, so you are constantly dodging ---- on the grass. And around my building it constantly smells like ---- and piss from all the animals that live in my building. Fleas are really bad too, my neighbor that doesn't even have animals had problems with fleas because the complex doesn't do any pest control. Also the dump for the garbage isn't big enough for the whole complex so every weekend there are piles of garbage around the dump, if you don't believe me drive by during the weekend you will see for yourself. The people in the office are complete idiots. They lost my key 3 times. That is three times that I had to give them my key so that they could make another copy. And the time I lost my key and needed the spare to get into my apartment, they didn't have it, oops it was lost again. So I had to break into my apartment from the kitchen window and then I had to replace my lock. For the price of these apartments it is not worth it. If you can deal with constantly having maintenance issues that are never fixed, like to walk in 4 inches of water to get to your car, like looking at trash when you enter your complex, want to die from cancer caused by the black mold that is growing in your wall, enjoy the spell of dog ---- and want to hear your neighbors fighting all the time then Melrose on the Bay is the place for you!
