I've lived here for about 8 months now in a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment on the first floor.

On noise:
It's relatively quiet here. We rarely hear the folks that live next to or above us. Maybe it's different in other parts of the complex, but when we drive through the lot at night, it's quiet and there are no wild parties, bands practicing, etc.

On safety:
My girlfriend and I both feel perfectly safe. Yes, the front gate has been broken for months, but this part of town isn't prone to seething criminal activity. It's a nice place to live, and you can tell it's not the "hood" when you drive around the complex. There's no reason to feel like it's not safe. However, I do wish they'd fix the gate. Not because I'm afraid that the bad guys will get in, but because that stupid ice cream truck comes through most afternoons and plays its stupid music. (ok, that was my rant. :) )

On laundry:
We have a washer and dryer in our unit, so I can't speak to how their facilities are. Our appliances were brand new when we moved in, and they work perfectly well.

On the grounds:
These are reasonably well maintained. Not perfect, mind you, but decent. They do a good job of cleaning, but I think residents should take a little more responsibility as well. Sweep in front of your doors. Tidy up around your porch.

On pets:
I don't have any pets, and I really dont know what the policies are. I see people walking dogs all of the time, but I've never stepped in dog poop. Mind you, I've seen it - and avoided stepping in it, but it's not all over the place by any means.

On maintenance:
Maintenance is decent. They aren't the best, but I guess they just hired a new maintenance supervisor to help out. He seems like a cool guy. As with many complexes, it's sometimes hit or miss as to whether or not someone fulfills a maintenance request. I'd like to see this complex institute some sort of notification that someone (pest control, maintenance, etc) entered your apartment to fix/spray/etc. That way you know it's done and you know when someone was in your place. My last complex did it and it was a great feeling knowing that things were being accomplished while I was away.

On the office staff:
I haven't had much interaction with the staff since moving in. They're decent people and they're certainly willing to listen and help. Since I don't go over to the office much (never really had a reason to, honestly), I can't say too much about them.

On parking:
Parking at this complex is a major pain in the arse. On the other side, where you first drive in, I think it's much better. I'm on the other end of the complex and it's just ridiculous. People park whereever they can - even in fire zones. If you're out late at night and come in after say, 11pm, good luck parking within a hundred yards of your apartment. Honestly, if there's any ONE thing I could recommend they fix, it's the parking situation.

On going condo:
I saw that post and had to respond to it. I've neither seen, heard, or suspected any such nonsense. Maybe it's true. Lots of places are going condo. However, we've heard nothing and we just signed a lease 8-9 months ago.

In any case...it looks like the folks who have an axe to grind found their way to this site to complain about whatever it is they can come up with. Do you folks really think if this place was THAT bad that they'd even be in business' As I like to tell anyone, go check it out for yourself.

If you would pay attention to dates, you would have noticed the going condo posts were from a while back. They did go condo 2 years ago and couldn't sell any of the units at their outrageous prices (140,000 for a 1/1) and with the fall of the housing market they have reverted back to leasing.
