Just last night there was a shooting behind my apartment. Within three minutes, the cops were here (Thank God for that!), and searched the lot behind the pharmacy next door, but I assume they found nothing because after an hour they left. I have lived here since September 2007 and have come home to find police cars in the parking lot at least twice a month. Residents of this apartment complex have approached me, offering drugs, asking for money, or trying to sell me things to feed their addictions. I have never felt as unsafe living anywhere as I do here. As for the maintenace of the apartment, my review cannot be any better. All the buildings at the Village Greene have been re-roofed except mine and there are some units in which the roof is leaking. When it rains in Florida, it pours and this is causing a major inconvenience to the residents of my building. Standing outside, I can see the wood trim is rotting as well is the overhangs on the porches. Most of the units are independently owned by landlords seperate from the property managers, so little things such as the operation of sliding doors, air conditioning units, and other in-home problems aren't covered by the Village Greene management staff. Concrete walls prevent me from hearing my neighbors while they are in the house, but the windows have no insulation whatsoever and I can hear everything that happens outside. I have had nothing but problems with this place since I moved in, and do NOT recommend it for anyone looking to move to central/coastal Florida.
