This was the only place I could find when I needed to move because my job was relocated. They charged me triple deposit and then almost didn't give it back to me when I left. I had to keep calling them and they kept promising it had been sent to me. I finally got my money back almost six months later.
It was basically ok and the forest was nice, until Wilma destroyed it. But then things started going downhill. The racoons were roaming and a few times blocked the way from my car to my apt. They did spray for the mosquitoes when I complained. The trash compactor they installed to 'help' actually made things worse -- the door was so high I couldn't reach it to open it and so had to leave my trash on the ground (along with many others). You'd have to be over six feet tall to open that thing! It took them almost two months to replace the light bulb outside my front door and between the racoons and no street lights after the hurricane, it was very scary to come home after dark. The tub was clogged when I moved in and I had to call every month to get it cleaned out so I wasn't standing in ankle deep water every time I showered.
They DO NOT tell you that there are several mentally disabled people living there. The woman next door was basically harmless, but she could be annoying. The other neighbor seemed to think playing LOUD music was totally acceptable and when I politedly asked her to turn it down, she got mad because I was disturbing her!! She actually played it so loud that I could hear it over the hurricane!
I was essentially forced to move out when they raised my rent 25% --$300!! The total was more than my take home pay!! When I asked why it was so much, they told me that they could get away with it because of the apt shortage after the hurricanes and if I didn't like it, I was free to leave. So I did. I miss the frogs in the forest singing to me, but that's all.

Do you have a problem with the "mentally disabled people"? By the way, they are learning disabled adults and happen to be completely harmless. You say it as if they were psychotic or something . .

How do you know that they are all harmless? When you see a person in the parking lot talking to themself I'm a little concern that he is schizophrenic and off his medication. I only say this because I've know schizophrenics in the past.

This is my review and my point about the 'special ed' neighbors is that there should be full disclosure to prospective/new tenants, because if I DID have an issue with them, I'd want to be able to decide NOT to live there. As I wrote in the review, the next door neighbor was mostly overly friendly which became annoying. I don't have children and don't appreciate a neighbor who acts like one.
