Great Place to Live

I was one of the first tenants to move into Sweetwater (June of 2006) when only two buildings were completely finished (the rest were still under construction). Since I've been here longer than just about anyone else, I can say that this is one of the best apartment complexes I've ever lived in. It's clean, and while it can get noisy (it's an apartment, kinda comes with the territory), it's still a great place to live. I've never had a problem that wasn't quickly resolved by the office or maintenance staff. Recently, the garage beside my apartment opened up and the office manager actually called me first to offer it to me at a discounted rate ($30 off per month). I've renewed my lease twice and my monthly rent has stayed the same.
It has a nice little gym that is free for everyone to use, plus a great pool area with a covered patio and plenty of room for a lot of people at once. Even after two and a half years, the pest control people still come by every fourth Wednesday, the grass is cut every week or so, and the trash is always picked up.
The apartments are larger than those for the same price in the Tampa area, and they are well taken care of. Yes, there is a gun range on the opposite side of the complex, and yes you can hear the gun shots, but it really isn't that bad. The gun range closes at five every day, so if you work a day job, you really don't hear it except on the weekends. And even then, it's not horribly loud.
I think a lot of the reviews for Sweetwater on this site are made by people with super high expectations of what an apartment should be. It is what it is, and if you're use to living in apartments, you'll love this place.

I don't know what building you live in but I am currently living in this dump and I HATE IT! Noisy!? Yes all apartments have noise to an extent but this apartment complex is a college kids haven. Its absolutely obsurd! The boys the live above us have alot of spanish speaking friends and I think I hear them so often I am learning the damn language.
The parties are EVERYWHERE EVERY Friday and Saturday night! Beer bottles and cans have been known to be scattered around the complex in bushes and in the yard on hollidays like new years and Holloween.
And clean! oh my goodness I am starting to wonder if pest control is attracting the roaches! That and all the leftover pizza boxes and take out that I am sure the college kids leave laying around there apartments.
Over priced! you would think that a three bedroom, two bathroom apartment would seem pretty roomie and worth a pretty penny. Ha these rooms are small and cramped! your better off tacking on another hundred a month and springing for a nice house!
I did have a problem with gators but after complaining ALOT to management that was taken care of finally.
As you can plainly see I do NOT agree at all with jgambleii I WILL NOT be renewing my lease. I am an adult with children and a husband and me and my family deserve a much cleaner, nicer, and quieter lifestyle.
If anyone who reads this is thinking about sweetwater apartments here in Dade City I would only recomend them if you are a hard partying, drinking, and dont give a ---- kind of person. Everyone else should avoid like the plague!!
