Nice, but watch out for those yearly rent increases!

I lived in the Anatole for 2 years and it was nice. Good parking, clean, nice landcaping. Pools were very nice, though the spas were a little shaky on cleanliness.
Only one trash compactor for whole complex, but it was cleaned out sufficiently everyday and did not cause problems, except for Sundays, when you can expect to see residents piling trash all over the trash area and it smelling horrible until maintenence cleans it up Monday morning. Also, tons of stray cats.
Lots of college students, had problems with noisy guys in the apartment below mine, and 20-somethings speeding through the parking lot (despite the numerous 25 foot-high speedbumps), but the office did act upon any complaints quickly.
Efficient maintenence staff, though the last few months I lived there my heater kept blowing a fuse and they just kept resetting the fuse instead of fixing the original problem. Kind of ran my bill up.
Feels safe enough, but had a huge rash of car thefts and car break-ins the last year I lived there, including my own car.
No utilities are included, so gets kind of pricey. Laundry was up to almost $4/load in their laundry facilites when I moved out.
I guess the one thing I really can complain about were the price increases in rent. My first lease was $610, second lease $620, and if I renewed again for a third it would have cost me $650 a month. Meanwhile, my older neighbor across the hall (a non-college student) had been paying only $600/month for over 5 years. I guess they figure since we are in school and will be graduating and eventually moving out, they want to get us for all they can.
Overall, way too pricey, but don't regret living there.

I just have to say that crime is anywhere you are. If you have something left in your car that a criminal wants they will take it. A ten dollar increase is nothing. I lived somewhere that every increase was $50-$60. I understand that there is a Fair Housing Act that says everyone has to be treated equally. I seriously doubt that they asked more money from a student than a "non student". But I guess people will think what they want.
