For the money, you can find a better place (location and quality!) Thumbs down!

There seems to be an unstated rule in the leasing office that determines where new tenants should be placed. If noise is a problem for you, make sure you get a unit on the east side of the complex, toward US1 and away from the train and pool and basketball court. I swear, the old people and young PROFESSIONAL people live on one end of the complex, and the minorities, college aged hooligans, and people with multiple children live at the other end. People screaming at all hours of the day and night in the pool is a problem. People leaving their (shoeless!) children unattended in the parking lot is a problem, especially when said children are playing on bikes or scooters and sometimes even carrying around projectile objects and swinging them around between cars. My car has already been dented twice. Depending on who your neighbors are, you can have a nightmarish experience here as the office really doesn't seem to screen their applicants. This complex has a lot of units and it seems they only care to keep each unit occupied, not for the peace and quiet of their tenants.
I've had neighbors who parked in my spot, had domestic disputes, were eventually evicted, etc. Loud music in cars and people just generally being obnoxious and disrespectful. The train you get used to; the other nonsense you don't. By the way, the noise mostly comes from OUTSIDE. I don't hear my immediate neighbors unless they slam their door or play music really loud but it's the people outside who are really ridiculous. That's the sort of people who live here... People who have no consideration for others. They scream in the parking lot and blast music while washing their cars. If I didn't know better, I would think this is a low-income housing development. Scratch that - I think that many low-income "projects" I've seen around here are NICER than this place.
On a positive note, it really is a rather large apartment but it's certainly not the most attractive or most modern.
Bristol Bay apts.(formerly Banana Cay) didn't fare very well during the hurricanes last year. In fact at least three 8-unit buildings were completely condemned. Other buildings had roofs destroyed and upper-level tenants had to vacate. After the hurricane, one could see that the roof construction consists of particle board - not even plywood! The particle board just became saturated and collapsed in the wind and the rain that came with the hurricanes. I stayed at home during Hurricane Frances and believe me it was a nightmare. It felt like the roof was being lifted and slammed back down! And yes, I was one of those people who had to vacate after my ceiling collapsed!
The maintanence staff is nice enough if not entirely competent. You have to pay for your own water if you live here and for one person that would be approximately $35 a month. In addition, the rental office now charges $50 per month if you want cable TV. I have opted not to have it and currently have no television reception. Cable used to be part of the package here but now it's been stopped. Oh yeah... I tried to get my own service and was informed by the cable company that I would have to go through my rental office because they have a "bulk account". So what do you think the mark up is there' I'm guessing they're making a 200% profit or better by having this bulk account of theirs and charging tenants FULL PRICE.
When my lease expires in a few months I am most definitely moving. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
