As the person below stated, the apartments didn't hold up very well at all during the hurricanes. MANY people had to move and signs were posted on buildings stating that they were inhabitable. The building construction is lousy and the decor is 70's. The management is okay though the maintenance staff is rather incompetent.

As of April they're converting this place into condos and giving tenants the option to buy. Amazingly, they're asking something like $130-160K for these units, which are 2-bedroom 2-bath and about 1050 sq. feet. I wouldn't say that these units are even worth half that, especially considering how "well" they're constructed.

As of last month they're only offering 7 months leases. I'm curious to know what will happen in the next couple of years because I have a hard time believing that people will buy these things at such an outrageous cost.

Also, since this conversion started this place has slipped back into a ghetto. Large gatherings of loud people and cars at all hours of the night, people in pools after closing time, fireworks outside, people suspiciously casing the buildings and grounds at night, and so on. For a while it seemed as though the dregs were mostly gone (after they stopped accepting Section 8) but now that has all changed.

So yeah, don't worry about this place, because you need to be eligible for a giant mortgage loan if you want to live here. You can find better for your money.
