My husband and I moved in early March of this year (2009) and I'm also very glad I didn't trust the ratings for Island Club that have been given so far. I feel I have a very good gut instinct, and when I saw the bad ratings, I kept it in the back of my mind, and went for a tour anyways. I feel that maybe people who didn't like living here were tenants who were in one way or the other unable to maintain the lease they signed on for, be it noise related, policy related, rent related, etc. The apartments themselves are over 20 years old, and in being older, the only thing that is reminiscent of that are the cabinets. They, I believe, are original. We decided on a 2/2, being that we plan on having children in the near future. The dishwasher and oven are brand new, and the berber carpet is in perfect condition. The walk in closets for both rooms are very spacious, as are the pantry and linen closet. You are allowed to choose one wall to be an "accent wall" in which you choose from about 6 or 7 colors and the maintenence team will paint for you. They are extremely pet-friendly, too. We came with one dog, and just adopted a second after beginning our lease here, and the Management Team were all very assistive with the pound we adopted her from. Any complaints we've had, which are minimal, have been handled promptly by the Courtesy Officer. The only problem we have occasionally is parking, and it's not that there is none, but it may be a walk if you're a night owl and come home past 11. But all in all, it's been great! I just wanted prospective tenants looking at Island Club to know that some people just have bad experiences due to their own faults and are, I believe, reflecting poorly on a complex doing a wonderful job! If you need more opinions, I'll be glad to help! :D This is our second apartment and are VERY happy to have moved here, and plan on calling Island Club home for the next 3 years as we save for a home. Thanks for reading!

That makes no sense. The last thing, I would HOPE anyways, that a member of management of any complex would do is put negative agenda on a review. I don't like the parking, and I don't like the cabinets, and that's the only thing I've found that I dislike, point blank. And you know what? After the flooding happened here, I thought maybe I was wrong in giving such high marks, and even THAT was taken care of as soon as the rain let up. If you think the reviews are wrong, give your own review. But I am a tenant, I just moved here from Deleon Springs to go to school, and I am real. Maybe I'm just an optimist in a pessimist's world? I don't know. The end.
