Like someone else said, this place smells of mold and mildew. The fixtures are old, the carpet is nasty, and there is water damage everywhere. When I first moved in I had a cockroach apartment that just would not quit. The management's pest control service was inadequate so I contracted someone of my own.
I could never get the odor out of my apartment.
The management as of 2000, and specificly the onsite manager, in my opinion, was a racist piece of white trash. Also, I couldn't even approach her "office" without holding my breath and that is no exaggeration. She and her affiliates were EXTREMELY rude. They entered apartments without sufficient notice, posted complaint letters and demands on doors regularly, and failed to deal with maintenance issues as they arose. More than once I contacted the city about their failure to fix problems. When the city got on their ass they finally did something. In any case, after that management took over I felt it necessary to move as soon as possible.
The apartment itself was small and a stone's throw from the railroad track. The noise from the train was unbearable and the entire apartment building would shake.
There's really no reason to live here at all. Not only is it in an undesirable area right next to a railroad track, but the management is horrible and the apartments themselves suck. I'd imagine that you could get 10x more for your money elsewhere - easily.

People still stifled after 5 years? I guess they still owe Vanessa money. you would just have to go see for yourself, that's why they have a waiting list and no vacancy, be sure to have at least $1000 to move-in. This person obviously now lives in section 8.

Leave Gina and her cervical cancer alone! Don't you know that her genital warts did in fact develop into a form of carcinoma? Of course now it has spread all through her system and even as morbidly obese as she is, she's already starting to waste away. It is so soooooo sad. Anyway, I hear the city of South Daytona wants to tear down Vanessa Apartments and build an annex to the current fire department for emergency response vehicle storage. They chose Vanessa Apartments specifically because of the continuous problems with code violations and rampant drug trafficking. It's funny how the most crime occurs within walking distance to a police station.
