My lease ends soon and my experience has not been too bad. Every time I had a problem it was solved. And if you want a substantially better apartment in terms of amenities and quality of your apartment (furnishing and fixtures of the kitchen and bathrooms) you must go somewhere else and pay at least $1,500 or more a month.

For a student it is a good deal.
