we moved to tivoli last year from out of town. arrangements (and deposits) were made prior to our arrival for a 2 bedroom apartment. arriving in deerfield with a u-haul we were told by management that our apartment wasnt ready and we would have to live in a one bedroom for a month and then move all our stuff again into the 2 bedroom. we complied and no compensation was offered or given even after much complaint. the 2 bedroom that was given was dirty and unpainted but we got out our mops and scrub-brushes and made it our home. now its a year later.... after 12 hellish months dealing with wandering junkies, fights in parking lots, repeated air-conditioning problems, rude management, fees for everything under the sun....etc, etc, etc. we were happy to finally get out from under their grip. we moved out leaving the apartment spotless. with tivoli's track record we figured if there was even a spot on the wall they wouldnt return our security deposit. they refused to set a walk-through appointment to make sure we left everything in order. we waited the 45 days for our security deposit refund. and then a letter arrived. they are charging us $250 in "repainting fees" !!!!!!!! THIS IS ON TOP OF A $150 "STANDARD" FEE THEY CHARGE FOR REDECORATING!!! needless to say, we are now suing them for every cent they owe us. wish us luck and don't even think about moving here unless you are a degenerate loser who plans on screwing them over....'cause then you'll fit right in!
