Like a couple of the other reviews, I too like the layout of the apartment floor plan but that's where it ends. There was one nice maintenance guy, Mike who did at least arrive punctually to look at problems at apartment but only quick fixes were made.
The air conditioning is probably the bigest problem that has yet to be resolved. When I moved in, the carpeting showed evidence that not only was the carpeting in my apartment not new but evidenced that the A/C had leaked and stained the carpet. Assuming that when I moved in, all equipment was in working order but discovered that was not the case. The A/C has leaked and soaked the carpeting at least 5 times since I took residence in Jauary, 2004, and each time management was notified, maintenance only "drained the lines" and claimed that it was the 2nd floor apartment a/c which was leaking. Even after they claimed to have recently "cleaned the coil" of the a/c after the 4th leak, the a/c leaked even worse. I advised the office on the day I stepped in a puddle in my bedroom (9/3/04) and to date, nothing has been done. (it's now day 2). I have continually asked for a professional a/c repair person to thoroughly examine the entire a/c unit as there is obviously a more complex problem with the a/c than an apartment maintenance person is qualified to handle. This request has not yet been satisfied and the a/c still leaks. In addition, management indicated they would fix a/c and professionally clean the carpet -- never done!
Parking facilities are atrocious! I believe the fairest way to provide sufficient parking is to have an assigned spot closest to each tenant's apartment. Not so at this complex. I come home late from work and can seldom park in front of my own building. For some unknown reason, people who live at one end of the building choose to park at the opposite end, therefore occupying parking in front of other tenants apartments. This is a total inconvenience, especially when one is carrying in groceries, etc. from the car into the home.
Grass sprinklers seem to often come on at the most inconvenient times, i.e., 8:00 a.m. when people leave for work. I have left messages for management advising them that they need to plan the timing of the sprinklers so those who go to work during the day don't have to run through sprinklers in their office clothes.
Another ongoing problem is the lack of pest control/extermination. I have repeatedly asked for regular pest control as indicated that it is provided under the lease. In the 8 months I've lived here, I may have had pest control once or twice. Being in a 1st floor apartment, more bugs are inside the apartment. I'm a clean person and can't stand the sight of bugs!
As for the ameneties to claim this complex is a "luxury" residence, I haven't experienced them. The primary example that comes to mind is the "gym/work out room". I've only visited it a few times but each time I've discovered that half of the equipment were in need of repair.
Shortly after moving in, I had faulty washer and dryer. The rinse cycle in the washer was stuck. It took being insistant and demanding before I got a different washer. At that point, I was told it was a temporary washer as it was the most basic. As of today, 8 months later, I still have the "temporary" washer. At about the same time, the dryer wasn't working and I had to call management a couple times before the dryer was fixed.
I'm now quite concerned after reading the other reviews. I don't intend to move out for a while but when I do, it seems that I'm going to have to prepare for a battle to obtain my security deposit. I was completely detailed with my move-in sheet and noted ALL flaws of the apartment upon move in.

To the person who wrote "Where Do I Begin?", I do believe that we have/had the same apt. I'm still there. A yr. later, same problems. No joke! Hint: there was also a problem with the dishwasher, it pulls out too far. Not too bad, though. Not like the a/c. Oh, also, another hint: someone wrote "DICKY" in red or pink ink/marker inside of one of the kitchen cabinets. I noticed it after we moved in. I hate it here, can't wait to get out. This really sounds like the same apt. Is it?? We have 2 talk...Thanks for listening.....
