The pros:

-Grounds well maintained (shrubbery, pool, gym, racquetball and tennis courts, etc.)
-Competent maintenance crew. They're good guys who get the job done. This is rare in Miami.
-My appliances worked perfectly for 2 years. The washer dryer was kinda small, but better than nothing.
-Almost half the tenants are military working at SouthCom in Doral, so you feel kinda safe lol.
-Didn't hear of much crime while I was there. I saw some punk kids, but they're pretty much everywhere. Unavoidable.
-Great walking path around the lake. Good views.
-Speaking of good views, amazingly gorgeous women live here. I was pleased ;)
-A lot of parking surprisingly. Place is well lit. The lack of security is made up for by people having BBQs at all hours of the day and night, which didn't bother me at all.

Cons:
-Association is TOO lax. Never thought I'd hear myself say that after dealing with many fascist associations. Stupid people will double park even though there's ample guest parking near every building. I saw cars being towed maybe 3 times, the 2 years I was there. My ex once freaked out because she mistakenly rammed into a car double parked behind her. I told her next time to keep ramming it because they're not supposed to park there, and the association does nothing. Sometimes I could barely squeeze my SUV through the street due to the double parkers.
-Half the time I was there, the gate was broken. Any idiot(s) could come in and out, and they did.
-Even though there's a security hut, there's no actual GUARD. To get in when the gate is actually closed you have to dial a keypad. For what Doral West charges, there should be security. Almost all other developments on 114th Avenue have them, and we pay more than they do for rent.
-The rent cost. $1600 for a 2/2.5 is highway robbery, even for Doral. When I didn't renew my lease they offered me a 1/1 for $1,400. I laughed. The place IS nice and maintenance is good, but not $1600 for a 2/2.5 good.
-The walls are paper thin. My neighbor would hear me when I go to the bathroom, played video games, watched movies, etc, and I didn't even have it that loud. Only consider living here if you're a quiet person yourself, or pray to whatever God you believe in that your neighbor is quiet.
-Everything's carpeted. I have a personal bias against carpet so you can ignore this.
-The girls in the front office are cool, but there's usually only 1 person in there at a time. This same person shows the place to prospective tenants, takes the rent checks, maintenance requests, etc. They need to hire more people in the front office. For what they charge, they can afford to hire. I've seen prospective tenants walk out of the front office, sick of waiting to be helped. Unacceptable for a business such as that.
