Gotta be crazy

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004
If I had a dollar for every time I complained about it here, we would be living in an ocean front mansion. We all pay too much for such little happiness. We have read some of the other stories about how bad the interior of some of the apartments are. We were told nobody lived in our place before us. I think we can believe it because everything was nice...for the first night. We have had numerous issues with our smoke alarms. They set themselves off in the middle of the night with no reason, nearly giving you and your pets a heart attack because they sound like a freight train, not a chirp. When we asked the office for help, we got it...days later. Their solution was for us to just unplug it until it could be replaced. Trying to sleep here is a true torture. I can honestly say in all these years we both have not slept through a full night. This is havoc on your health by the way. The walls are rice paper thin. If there's a party going on in a neighboring apartment you can be sure you will hear every beat in the song. It gets better if the party moves outside into the parking lot directly under your bedroom window.Go ahead, just ring to police! If your neighbor has a pet weighing in anything over a few pounds you can be sure you will even hear it's feet running over your head like a heard of elephants. You can hear virtually every move your neighbor makes, from flipping a light switch to opening a closet door to taking a bath and for godsake in some cases going to the bathroom. Which reminds me, men, if you live on an upper floor please flip the blinds so we can't see you standing there doing your business. I mean, we still see your shadow but not the real deal! Thanks! My husband and I love to lay by the pool and relax but trying to do this is nearly impossible. One afternoon we saw three children, ages 5 or 6-maybe 10, running, yelling and jumping in and out of the pool. Their parents came from outside the gate nearly an hour later. We thought they might stay to watch their kids, but nope. They came to see if the kids needed anything at the store! We were not going to stick around to "watch" someone elses children, So much for enjoyment, we left!
Ourselves and our neighbors have had many vehicles damaged over the years. It's hard to keep your things nice when someone backs into your car (without notice), smashes the doors, cracks the window and flattens the tires. All you can do is call the cops & make a report. YOU still have to pay for it. It just isn't right when there is a gate to keep people out that don't belong here.
If you get lucky you might be able to catch the one or two times during the year that you actually get to use the jacuzzi. If there aren't homeless people using it or just an over abundance of people (resident or not), it's broken and COLD! It usually takes days or longer to fix it...just give up, it's easier.
If you don't mind non-residents sliding through the security gate to park in your spot to use your pool, this place may be the one for you. If you don't mind smoke detectors blowing your eardrums out for no reason in the middle of the night, this might be your dream apartment. If walking through a dirty hallway to get to your loud apartment where you can hear your neighbors fart, is your style, Well then you can call this place home. If you want to pay a ridiculous amount in rent to only step in dog piles while getting to your car to go to work, be my guest and move right on in. If your desire in life is to live in a deteriorating ghetto fabulous, lookin good from the outside, community where YOU are not cared about, just your money, sign on the dotted line and welcome home suckers...we're outta here!
