Exteremely poor value - avoid at all costs

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
I moved into MacAlpine Place in April, 2005 after having sold my house. I searched many complexes but settled on MacAlpine because of the spacious floorplan (2 bedroom w/loft). The complex looked attractive; the rent was a bit higher than others which I had hoped would keep less desirable people away.
This turned out to be a big mistake. These so called "luxury" apartments are anything bu luxurious. The walls are paper thin, the carpet was worn and apartment did not even include a microwave. If I had been allowed to preview the apartment I would have requested another; but their policy is no apartment can be previewed until it is move-in ready (I was assured that it was just like the model I was shown).
MacAlpine supposedly prescreens prospective tenants; not so sure if this is the case. In the 2 years I have lived here the police have been to my building 7 times that I am aware of. My neighbors directly accross from me smoked pot in the breezeways, threw their cigarette butts everywhere and were just loud and dirty in general. Overall, the complex is LOUD; music blaring at all hours, kids stampeding in the breezeways, cars racing through like it was an interstate.
Avoid this place like the plague!
