First, this place isn't as bad as people make it sound. One problem is that they use such cheap flooring and they built paper thin walls that one little knock can put a BIG HOLE in the wall. They need to get REAL tile, they charge enough for this place to afford to put in real, legitimate flooring. Second, I hear everything from the people above me. They are extremely annoying. I understand all apartments are like that but it sounds like they are jumping or slamming things into the ground. It's not like quiet foot steps or normal people walking.. it is like elephants. If they were children I would understand but they are adults so what the f@#% are they doing' I also had neighbors across from me that had two dogs that NEVER shut up. So many people complained about it that they got evicted. Those same neighbors left a stupid motorcycle sitting outside taking up a parking space... ever since they left the parking has seem to become much more available. Most of the people here are friendly, I haven't had problems with anyone. The maintenance staff fixed the majority of our problems in the apartment. The only thing they didn't do was clean the carpet... I should make them replace it because it is unsanitary. When I first moved in I vacummed everyday and everyday hair, dust, and dirt filled my Dyson and I had to empty.. To be honest, it was UNNATURAL because I still get enough of that to fill half a truck bed. I suggest whoever has this problem demands a new carpet or lies and says they have to do it because a person living there has serious alleries to pets. I still vacumm up cat hair from the previous person living here. It is well insulated though. If I put the air on for a while then shut it off for hours it takes a while for the heat to get in. I had a small problem with bugs, but all you do is buy home defense spray at Walmart. I spray every four days... I don't see bugs anymore. The whole complex could use some updating like the gym, etc. Also the second pool that is far away from the Club House isn't kept as clean as the one in the front. All in all, it is an APARTMENT. I miss my house and how clean it was and all the luxuries of having a home. But we have to remember this isn't a home, it is just an apartment so until we can afford one we will have to deal with things like this.

It's really too bad you settled, real luxury apartments that charge the rates you pay at MacAlpine have concrete floors between the levels, and are made of ALL concrete not wood construction with pretty stucco overlay.. Bugs and noise will ALWAYS be a problem that they can do nothing to completely eliminate -- still, apartment or not, you are entitled, by law, to a safe, secure, private dwelling space free of incumberances - including the disgusting and disturbing sounds that come from your neighbors beside or above you.
